Product Information

Giant Talon 27.5 4 2015

The Giant Talon 27.5 4 is the entry level sports mountain bike. Perfect for the all round rider who is after a level up in mountain bikes from Giants ever popular Boulder.

The Talon 5 is suited to the consumer who wants an exceptional quality mid-level mountain bike; the rider who wants to dabble in some basic mountain biking such as smooth single track or fire roads in addition to bike paths or rail trails. This is why the Talon range of mountain bikes have been so popular for us – there’s one to suit most budgets and requirements.

The 27.5 wheel provides the best of both worlds as far as wheel size goes which is why it is now prefered by many riders.

Now we have a look at what makes the Giant Talon 27.5 5 tremendous value for money. Suspension duties are performed with a tried and tested SR Suntour XCT fork which features a mechanical lockout; with the turn of a lever keep the suspension turned off for efficient pedalling on sealed roads and when the road ends and the trails start turn it on for better control and comfort. As long as you don’t ride technical mountain biking terrain, the Suntour XCT fork will absorb small impacts and rough road surfaces smoothly.

Tektro HDC 300 hydraulic disc brakes provide ample power and control, and are a significant improvement over mechanical brake systems for both bike paths and mountain biking. The reasons why consumers are preferring hydraulic disc brakes is because:

1. They do not require constant maintenance. As the pads wear down the pistons adjusts themselves, ensuring you get consistent braking performance.

2. Ergonomics are a large factor. Significant force isn’t required to slow down or stop. The lever itself has a very light feel; it’s not stiff and therefore would also be suitable for consumers that may have problems with their hands.

3. Consistent braking performance means that they are very safe to use in wet conditions, as well as dry.

Come in for a test ride and feel for yourself the quality built into this bike.
